Why we read the data sellers' own pages
A research desk that reads the pages of training-data marketplaces, vendors and brokers and records what each publishes about price, unit and licence.
What this site is for
A figure for data means little until you know whose it is and what it buys, so we read each seller's and each buyer's own pages and quote every figure as written, saying whose claim it is.
Who this helps
Data and research leads at AI companies comparing where to source training data and what terms come with it.
What the site covers
A comparison built around one question, "buy ai training data",, usable on the page without an account; 3 supporting guides; cited figures (the table and its method) and every source those figures come from.
- Buy data for AI training: the unit behind each price on our board: How the companies on our board, sellers and buyers alike, put a price on data: per hour of audio, per dataset or by subscription, and how many quote only.
- Marketplace dataset price: what each listing prints, and per what: Dataset prices as sellers print them: Nexdata's starting prices on Datarade, the speech plans Defined.ai announced in 2024 and Opendatabay's prices per listing.
- Training data licence: the terms each company on our table names: The training data licence each company on our table names, seller or buyer, from perpetual non-exclusive rights to subscriptions and one-off purchases.
What it will not do
- We never hold, buy or resell a dataset ourselves.
- We never present a seller's own claim as a market price.
- We never describe a company beyond what its page says.

No seller or buyer on this board pays to appear. We never hold or resell data; where a company licenses its own data to a buyer we introduced, the company pays our fee of 12.5% as its exclusive agent or about 10% in a bundle or pool, and any fee a buyer pays us is credited to that company.
